Use of the Service

You may use Candy Scanner for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes unless I give written permission for another use. You are responsible for activity associated with your app data and for maintaining appropriate security for your device.

App Access

The initial version of Candy Scanner is offered without subscriptions or in-app purchases. I may add, remove, or change features in future versions. If paid features are introduced, their price, renewal terms, cancellation options, and refund rules will be presented in the app, the applicable app store, or the relevant checkout terms before purchase.

AI Scanning and Health Information

Candy Scanner may use automated systems or AI to analyze food, labels, barcodes, portions, and related inputs. Scan results and sugar estimates can be inaccurate, incomplete, or based on limited information. You must review and correct results before relying on or saving them.

The service is intended for general information, habit tracking, and personal reflection. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or professional medical or nutritional advice. Do not rely on it to assess allergens, diabetes management, eating disorders, food safety, or other health conditions. Seek advice from a qualified professional when appropriate.

User Content

You are responsible for photographs, labels, diary entries, corrections, feedback, and other content you submit. You confirm that you have the rights needed to provide that content and that doing so does not violate law, third-party rights, or these terms.

You grant me a limited license to host, store, process, reproduce, and otherwise use your content only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, improve, and support the service.

Prohibited Conduct

• Do not use the service if you are under 18.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, exploitative, abusive, hateful, or non-consensual.
• Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Do not reverse engineer, scrape, disrupt, overload, or bypass security or usage controls.
• Do not use the service to harass, threaten, defraud, or harm another person.
• Do not upload content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

Intellectual Property

I or my licensors own the service and its software, design, branding, text, graphics, and other materials. These are protected by intellectual property laws, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Availability and Changes

I may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. I may also update these terms by publishing a new version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Termination

I may suspend or terminate access if I reasonably believe you violated these terms, created a security or legal risk, or used the service unlawfully. You may stop using the service at any time.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. I do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, security, accuracy, completeness, or error-free results.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the service.
